44 East Condos, one of Downtown Austin's premier residential high-rises, needed comprehensive electrical infrastructure to support EV charging across their parking garage. The building's HOA contracted Texas Electric and Light to design and install the complete electrical backbone - panels, conduit, and dedicated outlets on each floor - giving residents the flexibility to connect their preferred EV chargers in the future.
This project required running new electrical service up through all 9 floors of the parking garage, installing dedicated sub-panels on each level, and providing 44 individual outlets ready for hardwire or plug-in EV charger connections. The infrastructure-first approach gives the building maximum flexibility for various charger types and future expansion.
Running new electrical service through 9 floors of an occupied parking garage required careful scheduling to minimize resident disruption and maintain garage access.
Designing the electrical infrastructure to accommodate various charger types and potential future expansion while staying within the building's existing service capacity.
Running conduit through concrete parking structure required precision core drilling and surface-mounted solutions while maintaining structural integrity.
