Project Overview

Texas Electric and Light is handling the complete commercial electrical installation for Comet Cleaners' Cedar Park location. Dry cleaning operations present unique electrical demands — commercial cleaning equipment, pressing machines, steam systems, and specialty lighting all require careful circuit planning and dedicated power.

This project involves coordinating the full electrical scope for both the customer-facing retail front end and the production floor behind it. The front end requires clean retail lighting and POS circuits; the back requires robust, dedicated circuits for heavy commercial equipment that runs continuously throughout the business day.

Comet Cleaners is an established Texas dry cleaning brand, and this Cedar Park location needs electrical systems that can handle the demands of full commercial production from the first day of operation.

Project Considerations

High-Demand Equipment Loads

Commercial dry cleaning equipment draws significant power — often 200-400 amps of dedicated capacity for the production floor alone. Proper panel sizing, load calculations, and circuit design are critical to ensure the facility runs without electrical issues.

Simultaneous Retail and Production Electrical

The retail front end and production floor have completely different electrical needs. Coordinating both zones in one installation while maintaining separation for code compliance requires careful planning in the rough-in phase.

Equipment Coordination

Dry cleaning equipment vendors have specific electrical requirements for each machine. We coordinate directly with the equipment supplier to ensure every circuit meets the exact voltage, amperage, and connection specifications for each piece of equipment.
